Get involved
The chapter is not an office. It is a group of people who work in coffee and who carry, on top of their own jobs, the country's competitions and education. There are four ways to join — and none of them asks you to already be a champion.
Compete
Enter a competition
You do not need years on stage to sign up. You need a coffee you believe in and the willingness to be judged by the same rules as at the worlds. Most champions lost the first time.
Judge
Prepare for the judging table
It is a road of years, not months, and it costs. We publish it in full, with everything it involves, so you can decide, in full knowledge, whether to start.
Volunteer
Keep the competition standing
Timekeeping, station work, backstage, welcoming competitors. It is the work without which there is no competition and, at the same time, the best school for anyone who later wants to sit on the judging panel. Volunteers work under a volunteering contract, as the law requires.
Support
Sponsor a competition
Money, equipment, coffee, space. For a competition, an espresso machine or a set of grinders can weigh more than a sum. What is raised goes back into competitor preparation and judge training.
SCA
SCA membership
Membership is taken directly with the global association, not through the chapter. The chapter is the local community; membership is your relationship with the SCA — and it opens up its education, standards and international network.
